CDRv5 Client Server Connectivity Overview
The CDRv5 Client must connect to the four modules of the CDRv5 Server:
- License Management to obtain its software license.
- Data Management Module to synchronize and get the call records.
- Real Time Module to get real time call records.
- Software Management Module to keep up with software updates.
Note: After changing connectivity configuration, restart the CDRv5 Client application for these changes to take effect. An orange indicator in the dashboard reminds you to restart.
Server Connectivity Configuration
For server connectivity configuration, click on "Home > Server". The connection requires you to set an IP address and Port Number for each of the four CDRv5 Server modules. Your CDRv5 Site Administrator has or will configure these values.
If you know these values, just record them in the edit boxes.
Using Auto Discovery (AD) to obtain the server configuration
If you don’t know the IP / Port values, but you know on which sub-net (IP address) the CDRv5 Server is currently running, just select the subnet in the Auto Discovery (AD) drop down and click ‘Refresh Above Lists with Available Servers’. This process assumes that the AD port is matches the server AD service. This process will show how many CDRv5 Servers are located on the subnet. The configuration of each server will be recorded in the four module drop down lists. Picking any drop down item will update the IP and the port number with valid configuration. Although not recommended, you can pick different servers for each module.
Notes:
- If you don’t know the subnet where the CDRv5 server is connected, you can sequentially try each subnet listed in the AD combo box dropdown until you find one
- If the CDRv5 Server is not up and running, your result will be null
- If you have a busy network and the AD feature response is slow, you can increase the wait time delay by clicking on the “+” button
- If you have a port conflict, the system will show an error. You can change the AD local port. However, the remote port must match the CDRv5 Server AD port number. The default is port 15000
- Default module port numbers are RT=15001, DM=15002, LM=15003, SW=15004
- Subnet 169.254.x.x should not be used as it is reserved for other purposes
Tips
When the mouse cursor hover on the status indicator, the status details will provide additional information. A green indicator shows that server connectivity is working properly.
